Introduction to Appearance Capture

Appearance Capture or Photometric Stereo is a technique in computer vision used to estimate the surface material properties of objects by observing them under different lighting conditions. By analyzing multiple images taken with varying illumination, it captures detailed surface geometry and reflectance properties, allowing for the creation of highly accurate 3D materials.
